Project Objectives

The project aims to engage with different actors in the sanitation value chain in specific socio-political, economic and political contexts.

  • To understand how people-centred sanitation innovations address second-generation sanitation challenges in off-grid towns in Asia and Africa.
  • To understand the challenges of off grid sanitation faced by local communities and its role in reproducing marginalisation
  • To assess the policy and regulatory framework that enables and/or disables the uptake, scaling up and sustenance of resource recovery reuse initiatives

Project Outputs

The various dimensions of the projects were presented in various conferences and presented at several platforms like the Global Expo by the Government of Kerala and the ‘Friday Water Thesis’. Blogs, and documentaries were also prepared
