As part of the “Towards Brown Gold” project, a 22-member study team from Ethiopia, Ghana, India, and Nepal visited Alappuzha to identify gaps in fecal sludge management systems and explore possible solutions.
The team visited the Aerobic Unit at Alisheri, the Haritha Karma Sena’s Material Collection Facility Center, and the decentralized wastewater treatment plant (DEWATS) jointly implemented by KILA and IIT Bombay at Chathanad.
Led by Prof. Lyla Mehta (IDS, UK), the delegation also included Prof. N.C. Narayanan (IIT Bombay), representatives from Living Lab Alleppey, and Rohit Joseph from CAN Alappuzha.
