Launch of Full-Cleanliness Survey Preparations Under “Nirmal Bhavan Nirmal Nagaram 2.0” in Alappuzha Municipality

Alappuzha Municipality, in collaboration with CANALPY Alappuzha and Living Lab Alleppey, officially initiated the preparatory activities for the full-cleanliness declaration under the “Nirmal Bhavan Nirmal Nagaram 2.0” project.
The meeting was held on September 23, 2021, at the Municipal Council Hall, attended by Municipality Chairperson Soumya Raj, ward councilors, and CANALPY team members. The session, led by CANALPY team member Drishya Vishwan, provided a detailed overview of subsequent activities, including the full-cleanliness survey, survey analysis, and cleanliness declarations, and clarified any doubts of participants.
It was decided that, with the support of volunteers, the city-wide cleanliness survey would be conducted on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti, followed by the announcement of the first fully clean ward on November 1, Kerala Piravi Day. Ward councilors were instructed to mobilize volunteers for conducting surveys across all households in their respective wards.
Chairperson Soumya Raj emphasized that a disease-free, clean city is the ultimate goal, urging all stakeholders to work together in harmony to achieve it.
In the afternoon session, a follow-up meeting was held at the CDS Office Hall of Alappuzha Municipality, attended by Chairperson Soumya Raj, North CDS Chairperson Lali Venu, South CDS Chairperson Sujatha Dhanapalan, CDS members, and CANALPY representatives Drishya Vishwan and Vishnu Suresh. Members were provided with guidelines and criteria for identifying volunteers required for the full-cleanliness survey.
The session concluded with Chairperson Soumya Raj highlighting the importance of the Nirmal Bhavan Nirmal Nagaram project and reinforcing the necessity of conducting the survey to ensure a fully clean and healthy city.
