On April 22, 2025, we convened a critical workshop at the Alappuzha District Collectorβs Chamber as part of the Vembanad Rejuvenation Project, focusing on the current status of solid and liquid waste management in the local self-governments (LSGIs) around the Vembanad Lake.
π Representatives from 12 colleges and 6 LSGIs participated in this impactful session. Led by the District Collector of Alappuzha, the workshop outlined the methodology and importance of the upcoming comprehensive sanitation survey.
π Special emphasis was placed on the proactive involvement of students from civil/environmental engineering, MSW, NSS units, and environmental clubs. Their role is key in driving data collection, awareness, and on-ground change.
π€ With collaboration at its core, the District Collector called upon all participating institutions to lend their full support to this vital environmental initiative.
