Children Unite to Protect Rani Canal – A Community-Driven Clean-Up Initiative in Alappuzha

This morning, children took the initiative to become guardians of the Rani Canal, reaching out to households along both banks with the inspiring slogan: “Let’s Join Hands for a Clean Rani Canal.” Their enthusiasm was supported by councilors, volunteers, Kudumbashree members, Harithakarma Sena workers, and representatives of local resident associations, turning the campaign into a truly community-driven effort.

Residents were provided with awareness boards and notices outlining scientific waste segregation practices, encouraging households to actively participate in keeping the canal clean. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure free-flowing, pollution-free waterways in Alappuzha and promote sustainable urban hygiene practices.

The campaign reinforces the message of unity and environmental responsibility:
“Together for a flowing Rani Canal…
Together for a Clean Alappuzha…
Together for a New Kerala…”
