Ahead of Onam, Onam gardens are being set up in schools across the municipality in collaboration with the local body. So far, Bandhithottam activities have begun in SDV JBS, SDV HS Boys, Muhammadan’s Girls, Muhammadan’s Boys, CMS LP School Kallupalam, Holy Family LP School, TKMM UP School, CMS LP School Compound, and Shanmukha Vilasam School, Vadakkal.
The municipality has taken up extensive initiatives to spread the practice of circular waste management and its benefits not only among adults but also among children. As part of this, through the CanSan Campaign , children are being actively engaged in the cleanliness mission.
With the support of Living Lab Alleppey, these efforts aim to nurture both agricultural abundance and environmental responsibility, bringing the spirit of Onam alive with the active participation of the younger generation.
