A workshop was organized at Mararikulam North Grama Panchayat to coordinate activities under the “Alappuzha Sampoorna Suchithwamandalam” campaign. The initiative aims to make all local self-government institutions in the constituency completely waste-free, thereby transforming the entire Alappuzha constituency into a model of total sanitation.
The workshop was inaugurated by Grama Panchayat President Sudarshana Bhai Teacher. KILA Research Associate Geethu presented the project framework. Pradeep, Joint Director of LSGD, and Akhil, Suchitwa Mission Program Coordinator, also addressed the gathering.
As part of the campaign, a Panchayat Core Committee has been formed to oversee implementation. Alongside, Living Lab Alleppey and CANALPY have initiated community engagement programs, decentralized waste management models, and capacity-building sessions to support the campaign and ensure participatory sanitation planning.
