Alappuzha Municipality celebrated its remarkable achievement of securing the first position at the national level in the Indian Swachhta League (ISL), organized under the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission, competing with 1,850 cities across the country. The city also earned the first rank in Kerala in the Swachh Survekshan.
In recognition of these achievements, the Municipality honored the health department staff, sanitation workers, Haritha Karma Sena members, Kudumbashree workers, and the CANALPY and Living Lab Alleppey teams who worked tirelessly to make this success possible.
The felicitation ceremony was held at the Municipal Town Hall, presided over by Hon. Ambalappuzha MLA H. Salam. Hon. Minister for Local Self-Government, M. B. Rajesh, inaugurated the event, while Municipal Chairperson Soumya Raj delivered the welcome address. Alappuzha MLA P. P. Chitharanjan attended as the chief guest.
