Living Lab Team met with Minister P Prasad and MLA PP Chittaranjan on 15 Aug to share details of our upcoming project addressing the pollution of Vembanad Lake.
Rohit Joseph presented strategies and our similar earlier interventions. The focus is on the rapidly urbanising stretch between the urban agglomerations Alleppey and Cherthala, forming the western boundary of Vembanad Lake.
The meeting is part of an exercise to involve local bodies and concerned departments in creating a participatory space for everyone. Similar talks are being carried out with Suchitwa Mission, Alappuzha and Cherthala Municipalities, integrating them into the network. The stretch further includes Aryad, Mannanchery, Muhamma, and Thaneermukkom Grama Panchayats. The project will also work towards rejuvenating the length of AS Canal.
